Yoga Promotes Healthy Eating

Another of yoga's wonderful benenefits

Yoga classes are extremely popular in health clubs and universities across the country. Yet, until recently we’ve had very little research showing yoga’s beneficial effect. That’s changing. Studies now show that yoga improves flexibility, balance and muscle endurance. A study from the University of Washington showed that yoga promoted healthy eating habits. Women who practiced yoga were less likely than sedentary or moderately-active women (walking or gym exercises) to eat when full, better educated about food quality, more critical of food advertising, less likely to eat in response to stress or sadness, and could focus on other things while eating.
