I think women are just so great! I’m not saying that just because I’m a girl and I love my Mom. Women are really awesome! Although, a big part of society feels that women are weak and some would say a bit inferior to men. I say, HECK NO! We are strong, powerful, intelligent and capable of achieving everything a man can. That’s right, sister. The best part is that we continue to get stronger and achieve more. It’s like we have this contagious confidence that we’re spreading to one another.
Choice & Opportunity
Gender roles have evolved over the years. Women are not the only ones who stay at home anymore while the husband works. Women are choosing the lifestyle that suits their needs and allows them to best care for their family, be it in the workplace, at home or some combination of the two. Those whom are choosing to work are getting promotions in male-dominated professions, becoming CEO’s of companies and earning key leadership roles in government. I absolutely LOVE it! GO girls! I mean, isn’t that just a little bit exciting? It’s easy to take for granted, but I believe it’s a cause for celebration!
We Do It All!
Taking care of family, cooking, cleaning, making sure that a relative or spouse gets their stuff done, working, going to school and dealing with life’s stresses…sound like a typical day? It’s pretty tiring, huh? Women love to nurture, to help and to take care of everyone and everything.
And, we don’t often realize how big of a role we play in the lives of others, our work places, our groups, teams, etc. We become caretakers, the one who people go to for comfort and the one who listens to everyone’s problems, because that’s just how we’re wired.
Let’s Celebrate TOGETHER
Well, I say we deserve to make it a Girls’ Holiday! A day JUST for us. Now, I know us girls like to go shopping or to have a spa day, so this is a perfect “excuse.” Pick a day every month and get the girls together. Go have fun, have a little girl’s night out or that relaxing day you most likely need. Use that time to celebrate women, all that we do and how much we have all accomplished.
It’s just so nice to spend some time with the girls we love. Having a good relationship with our female friends is so important. Together, we can help each other when we are down, make each other laugh when we need to smile and the list goes on and on. I have a lot of male friends–more than I do girlfriends—but I LOVE my female friends. The relationship is different. There are just some things you can’t talk to a man about, because they just wouldn’t understand. Also, certain outings are just more fun with all girls.
So get to it, celebrate each other for the strong, beautiful women that you all are!
