Challenge workouts are something I use with my clients and groups every so often to keep them motivated, test their strength and conditioning and allow them to push their physical and mental limits.
One of my favorite challenge sessions is a 35-Minute As Many Rounds As Possible Workout.
The number one thing you must focus on with this type of workout is maintaining proper technique with the exercises to avoid injury. Also, you’ll want to use a weight that you would typically select when doing 3-4 sets.
HOW TO…
Set a clock on your phone or watch to countdown from 35:00 to 0:00. Select the order that you want to complete the exercises and stick to that order. I also suggest keeping a tally of each round, because as you get into it, the last thing you want to do is count your rounds. You will also want to track the weight that you used, so you can compare for next time.
– Go hard and heavy with the weights and push the pace, but keep perfect technique.
– Rest when needed during this 35-minute session.
THE EXERCISES
Kettlebell Swings x15
Kettlebell 1-Arm Clean x 5 each side
Push Ups x 15
TRX Rows x 15
Jump Squats x 5
Battling Ropes x 25 each side (If you don’t have access to Battling Ropes, you can jump rope for 50 reps)
Give this a try and be sure to leave a comment here with how many rounds you got and how the workout went for you.
