When we asked our cover girl Nicole Wilkins if it felt better to regain her Olympia title than to win it the first time, she immediately responded with a firm “Yes!” “When I won the Olympia in 2009, my goal was to place top three. I didn’t even set my hopes on first, so when I was called as the winner I was in complete shock. I never took that title for granted but when you lose it, you realize even more so what you had.” The old saying stands true— you never know what you have until it’s gone. SECRET’S TO A WINNING PHYSIQUE

1. You must take care of your body. Get enough sleep, try to stay stress free, exercise regularly and drink a lot of water.
2. Eat all-natural foods and avoid breads, alcohol and sugar.
3. Be patient and consistent. It helps tremendously to surround yourself with supportive and positive influences.

NICOLE LOVES HIIT

For the Olympia, Nicole did a lot of high intensity interval training (HIIT). Here’s one of her favorite workouts for the treadmill.

5-minute walk to warm up
10 rounds of 30 sec at 8% incline and speed of 9.0 mph with 30-second rest (hop on and off treadmill)
Walk for 5 minutes
10 rounds of incline 10% 9.0 (30 seconds on and 30 seconds off)
Walk for 5 minutes
10 rounds of incline 15% speed 9.0mph (30 seconds on and 30 seconds off)
5 minutes walking cool down
