All whey protein is not created equal. That’s why I chose healthier grass-fed whey protein for this morning smoothie. Move over Starbuck’s— there’s a new, low-cal mocha protein smoothie in town!

Good Morning Mocha Protein Smoothie


1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
¾ cup unsweetened almond milk, chilled
2 tablespoons plain unsweetened grass-fed whey protein
¼ cup sugar-free chocolate syrup, chilled
1 shot of espresso, cooled (or use espresso powder equal to one shot diluted in 2 tablespoons warm water)
2 packets sugar substitute (e.g., Truvia® or Nectresse™)

Put all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately. Makes 1 serving.
