Sparkling Green Tea Lemonade

Refreshing Summer Drink

By Kristin Massey

I called my friend and world-renowned sports nutritionist, Robert Haas, to ask him what he drinks to stay hydrated and fit during 90-plus degree weather. Robert graciously shared his thermogenic lemonade cooler with me and now, I’m sharing it with you. Check out his blog:

Sparkling Green Tea Lemonade

½ tsp Matcha green tea (powder available at specialty tea stores)
1 teaspoon organic honey
1 tablespoon Truvia® Spoonable stevia-based sugar substitute
1 oz organic lemon juice
2 oz hot water
3 oz sparkling mineral water

Combine first five ingredients in a glass tumbler and stir vigorously with a whisk or use a hand-held electric frother (such as Aerolatte®). Pour into cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake for 8-10 seconds. Strain mixture into 12-oz tumbler filled with one cup of ice. Top off with sparkling mineral water and gently stir. Garnish with fruit wedge (lemon, lime or orange) and serve immediately. Makes 1 serving.
