Post Workout Shake!

You’ve worked your butt off in the gym, really pushed yourself to get through those last couple of sets and now it’s time to reward yourself. It’s recovery smoothie time!! Post workout nutrition is just as important as the workout, it’s time to repair those muscles and build strong lean muscle. This is one of my go-to’s, it’s high in protein, has a nice little amount of carbs to help your body recover, cinnamon as a metabolic booster, Maca powder for energy, ginger as an anti inflammatory annnnnnnnnd literally tastes like cake batter. So much yessssss.

Carrot Cake Batter Smoothie


1/2 cup baby carrots
1 scoop vegan vanilla protein
1/4 cup applesauce (if you like things on the sweeter side add an extra 2 tbs)
1 cup almond milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp organic Maca powder
1 tbs of freshly grated ginger
2 ice blocks

This one is once again an under 5 min prep kinda thing, I mean you’ve just worked out and crushed it in the gym, things need to be easy right now.

• Combine all ingredients in a bullet blender and blend until smooth. I’m a weirdo and enjoy the thick batter like texture hence the very little ice, however if this is not quite your jam then add about 5 ice cubes to the mix.
• Garnish with left over ginger or seeds or whatever you like, let’s be real- chances are you are HANGRY and drinking it straight from blender anyway.
