Mastering Metabolism

Tips on how to master yours and a daily meal plan!

Metabolism: the thing we take for granted until we reach our early 30s and notice we can’t eat whatever we want! Everyone seems to think that in order to be skinny you have to eat less! You would think that would be the case buuuut unfortunately it’s NOT! Similar to a bicycle, your metabolism needs momentum to work. To get the most out of your metabolism, you need to eat smaller portions more frequently throughout the day.

Metabolism works in a mysterious way, and when you aren’t familiar with how it works it can be easily misconstrued. Eating more frequently revs up your metabolism, kicks it into high gear, and allows your body to burn more calories throughout the course of the day. It also allows the body to get away with a cheat every so often, perhaps your favorite caramel macchiato from Starbucks, without having a significant impact on your weight-loss goals!

Now how do we go about mastering our metabolism?! You can work out all day long, put in all this hard work at the gym, but guess what? It will NOT get you those six-pack abs or that tight tummy. Abs are made in the kitchen, ladies, and I cannot stress it enough. I went through this at one point, working out hard in the gym and not seeing ANY results because my eating plan was off. What I thought was healthy then, wasn’t! I hadn’t mastered my metabolism.

How can you master your metabolism? Eat MORE to weigh LESS. I know it is a strange concept, but the best way to keep your metabolism going is by eating every two to three hours. At first it seems like a lot, but this is necessary to keep that metabolism going. Speeding up your metabolism will burn more calories throughout the day! The less you eat, the more your body goes into “starvation mode,” preserving the fat in fear of not getting any food. So the main point in mastering your metabolism is eating every two to three hours. Here is a quick trim plan to get us back on track shedding that weight!

Quick Trim Plan:

Meal 1
4 egg whites
1/2 cup of oats
1/4 cup of pumpkin puree

Meal 2
3-4 oz chicken breast
1 cup broccoli

Meal 3
3-4 oz tilapia
3 oz sweet potato

Meal 4
1 scoop of whey protein
1 rice cake
1 tbs almond butter

Meal 5
4 oz cooked salmon
1 cup spinach
10 asparagus spears
1 tsp olive oil and 1 tbs balsamic vinaigrette

Consistency is key! It takes a good three weeks of being CONSISTENT to get your body revved, running and ready to burn, baby, burn! Don’t give up or give in! In no time, the fuel will be fired and the weight will be melting off! You don’t have to eat LESS you just have to eat RIGHT! If you are consistent, persistent and never give up… you will lean out in no time! The KEY to mastering your metabolism is EAT more to WEIGH less! Just because you don’t see results in one day, DON’T GIVE UP; all good things take time! You may not see sudden changes, but keep in mind EVERY smart choice you make is affecting you in ways you would never imagine! It isn’t a diet, it is a lifestyle change! STICK to your lifestyle change and you will see your life slowly change as you gain confidence and courage to make yourself a healthier you! You can do it! Stay dedicated and determined and remember…. The “Skye’s” the LIMIT!!!
