Imagine a moment of personal triumph. The moment when you finally achieved the goal that woke you up each morning, challenged your will all day and put you to bed at night. Think about how you felt when you finally crossed that finish line. Exuberant. Victorious. Blissful. Joyful. Proud. I think it’s safe to say that most of us live for these supercharged moments. It’s too bad these moments are rare—or are they?

YOUR BEST is all about helping you have more of those winning moments. It’s about feeling the joy of accomplishment on a DAILY basis. Why can’t we think of each choice, moment and day as an opportunity to experience victory? To feel embraced by success? To smile about the little things? We can. Ultimately, it’s the moment-to-moment victories that add up to the bigger wins. So, rather than rushing through life, I say we enjoy it and use the momentum to fuel our inner fire. That’s been my goal.

For the large part of my IFBB journey, I have embraced the phrase YOUR BEST as a mantra and guidepost for my training and my life. By keeping YOUR BEST top of mind, I have remained focused on maximizing present opportunities to progress rather than worrying about future outcomes or dwelling on past failures. As a result, I utilize my time more effectively and am able to maintain a positive and productive mindset. Also, each day, I give myself a little motivational boost by recognizing, appreciating and even celebrating my daily wins. Is it possible to win EVERY day? I think so. I definitely have off days when stress and exhaustion get the best of me. However, I just accept those days as a reality, do the best that I can in each moment and then move on to the next great contest: Tomorrow.

That said, YOUR BEST is more than a fun name for this column. It’s a mindset and an approach to living. To help make winning the day your reality, each week I will share strategies to assist you in achieving daily victories, owning a winning mindset and smashing obstacles that challenge your success (willpower alone will only take you so far). I hope you will join me weekly here at FitnessRx For Women!
