Michele Levesque-Presciano is a glowing icon for health and fitness, as one of the industry’s most acclaimed and successful trainers/kinesiologists, international fitness and cover models and Figure competitors. Michele is also a former Miss Figure America and Miss Figure Universe— in addition to being a loving wife and proud mom (she is currently pregnant with a boy due in January). Before we get to Michele’s workout, let’s get to know this amazing lady and Team Hi-Tech athlete a little better. Michele took the time to answer some questions about staying lean, her favorite ways to train, how to be a fit mom and more!
FITRX: Do you like to work out outside when you can?
MICHELE: I sure do. There is nothing like pure oxygen. I have the privilege to have Florida as my home now, so I can work out outside all year long if I want to. I use to live in Canada and I would ski and do a bunch of outdoor activities even in the cold months of winter. I am very “outdoorsy.”
FITRX: What are some of your favorite activities to do outside?
MICHELE: Some of my favorites are running, biking, hiking and I like to bring my daughter to the beach!
FITRX: What other kinds of cardio training do you do to stay lean?
MICHELE: I run around like crazy after my daughter [laughing]; she is all over the place and it sure keeps me active all day long. I take a lot of walks with her, go at the park. Sitting and watching TV is a privilege now— something I rarely do!
FITRX: What’s your favorite body part to train and why?
MICHELE: I love shoulders. Maybe because it seems to be a body part that stands out for me and I am always looking to improve the way they look.
FITRX: Why do you enjoy fitness so much?
MICHELE: Because of the way it makes me feel, which is awesome— not only physically, but also mentally. It helps me when I am stressed, it puts me in a great mood and helps me sleep better. Fitness has been part of my life since I was a child and it has helped me in so many ways— to recovering faster from injuries, going through pregnancy more easily and being a better mom!
FITRX: What’s your favorite cheat meal and how often do you have it?
MICHELE: Italian food! My husband’s lasagna is my favorite! I have it every three weeks. I do have a cheat meal once a week— it always changes. I like to cheat on different things!
FITRX: As a mother, do you find it hard to find the time to exercise? What are some of your fit tips for busy moms?
MICHELE: It can be quite challenging to find time for a workout, but I do find the time. It is pretty much the only time I have for myself and I make the best of it. That is how I was able to bounce back really fast after I had my daughter and how I also maintain my physique. You have to have a really good support system around you: your husband, friends, family members. Trust me— if you are committed to working out, you will find a way. You can check at your local gym if they have day care and leave your child there for an hour, you can buy a few weights, a kettlebell, jump rope and work out at home while your baby is napping/sleeping. Work out in the morning before the baby gets up, or get a jogging stroller and go for a run with your little one. You just have to find time, even if it’s just 20 minutes. Soon that 20 minutes will be 40 minutes and then 60 minutes.
FITRX: What’s a great piece of advice that someone once gave you?
MICHELE: Follow your instincts, and this one is from my mom. It sounds very general, but it is something I have been using almost every day of my life. Decisions can’t always be based on instinct, but when in doubt, follow it.

“Don’t underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak and notice more than you realize.”
“I have too many flaws to be perfect, but I have too many blessings to be ungrateful.”

“Never sacrifice these three things: your family, your heart, your dignity.”
“I would say all the magazine covers I did throughout my career are one of my biggest accomplishments. My prime time in the fitness industry was right when Facebook started and social media was starting to get more popular. I didn’t get exposure or seek it out through social media. I won big shows when I was competing and got in touch with all the magazines out there and sold myself as to why I should be on their cover. 20+ something covers later (and counting), I can say I accomplished more than I expected and I am very proud of it. Times have changed, social media took over, digital is taking over, so it is nice to think I was on all the major fitness magazines:) including FitnessRx for Women!
And my daughter is also one of my biggest accomplishments. I never thought I would be a mommy one day, and my daughter is my pride and joy.”
